Guided Research Program:
Student Supports
Our 5 layers of student coaching and support help set up our students for success:
1) Orientation: before the first meeting with their mentor professor, we provide an orientation training for the student to ensure the student understands: what professors expect, how to best communicate with their professors, expectations for writing a college level paper, and strategies for earning a positive evaluation and letter of recommendation.
2) Mentoring: once connected with the mentoring professor, that professor will provide guidance during weekly scheduled meetings and is available between meetings through email correspondence.
3) Writing Coach: students will also be assigned a writing coach who will perform up to 3 full reviews of the students' writing and 3 video sessions with the student to provide feedback.
4) Program Supervisor: students will be assigned a program supervisor to ensure the program is progressing and updates are being sent to the family.
5) Publication Guidance: Students will be provided guidance on how to submit their completed research for possible publication, which is a common outcome.
